As veganism and ethical consumerism continue to gain popularity, the demand for vegan and cruelty-free beauty products, including nail polish, has also risen. The majority of our nail polish colors are vegan, with the exception of reds, pinks, and select purples. We utilize natural colorants, and carmine remains the sole natural red colorant available to us. However, carmine, derived from insects, is classified as an animal-related ingredient. It stands as the solitary non-vegan element in our nail polish manufacturing process. We are diligently working to source a plant-based red colorant, an endeavor that presents significant challenges. Our efforts have included testing numerous plant-based red colorants, such as those derived from beets and Gardenia fruit. Regrettably, the color from these sources fades rapidly within our water-based nail polish.
Another crucial facet of vegan nail polish pertains to its cruelty-free nature. At Suncoat, we strongly oppose animal testing and abstain from subjecting our products to such practices. Additionally, our partnerships exclusively involve likeminded raw material suppliers, ensuring that the ingredients utilized in our final products have not undergone animal testing.
